Impact of Transformational Leadership on Employees Job Satisfaction: A Case Study of Private Universities in Jordan

This research aimed to measure the impact of transformational leadership on job satisfaction among academic faculty in private universities in Jordan. In order to achieve this aim, this research adapted a quantitative approach using questionnaires to collect data. Questionnaires were distributed to private universities in Jordan. The sample for this study is a convenience sample for 3 private universities (Al Petra university, Sumaya and Al Ahliya university, 50 questionnaires were collected in total. Data were coded, analyzed, and systematically presented using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). The study tool's validity and reliability were checked, and then a descriptive analysis was performed. An analysis was conducted, and the correlation between variables was then determined. Finally, the impact of transformational leadership dimensions was investigated.
The research results show that Transformational Leadership positively influenced academic staff’s job satisfaction in private universities in Amman. Additionally, the study indicates that there is an impact of transformational leadership dimensions on academic staff’s work environment and job satisfaction. According to the statistical data generated, Idealized influence has the highest impact on academic staff’s job satisfaction then comes inspirational motivation followed by individualized consideration and at the end comes intellectual stimulation. This research recommends scholars and educational institutions to effectively implement transformational leadership and its four dimensions more frequently to increase academic staff’s job satisfaction and well-being.
